Home modifications for veterans
We help veterans and their families use VA grants for ramps, safer bathrooms, wider doors and more, and prepare the itemized quote the VA asks for.
- NJ-registered contractor, insured
- Free home visit
- Medicaid, VA & private pay

The VA grants
- HISA (Home Improvements and Structural Alterations): for medically necessary changes such as entry ramps, roll-in showers, grab bars and wider doorways. The request usually starts with your VA doctor or care team.
- Specially Adapted Housing (SAH): a larger grant for veterans with certain serious service-connected disabilities, to build or adapt a home for wheelchair living.
- Special Housing Adaptation (SHA): for veterans with certain service-connected disabilities, such as vision loss or loss of use of both hands.
How we help
- A free home visit to measure and listen.
- An itemized written quote in the format the VA asks for.
- No work until the VA approves it in writing.
- Insured crews, licensed electricians and plumbers for that work, and a final walk-through with you.
Good to know
Grant rules and amounts are set by the VA and can change. Your VA care team or VA.gov has the latest eligibility details, and we're happy to help you understand the paperwork.
Questions people ask
Does the veteran have to pay anything?
That depends on the grant and the work approved. We give you a written quote first, so you know what the grant covers before anything starts.
Can family members contact you for a veteran?
Yes. Spouses, adult children and caregivers often reach out first. We'll include the veteran in every decision.
